NEW DELHI — The number of people killed in Tuesday’s temple stampede in the western Indian state of Rajasthan has risen to 224, a police spokesman said Thursday. The official death toll, earlier reported as 147, was revised after it was found that many people had carried their dead relatives home after the disaster. Another 50 people injured in the stampede are still being treated in hospitals.
