GOLDEN — A 25-year-old man was sentenced Friday to 23 years in prison in connection with a robbery and fire a year ago at an Evergreen home.
Gregory Allen Leon pleaded guilty earlier this year to first-degree arson and theft after his former wife, Summer Lynn Baker, agreed to testify against him in return for reduced charges.
Baker, 25, was sentenced Monday to four years in prison for theft.
Prosecutors said John Stuckless and Cathie Messa hired their cleaning woman to housesit while they were in Mexico. The woman allowed Baker to stay there, and Baker let Leon into the home.
When Stuckless and Messa returned, they found their home in flames. The contents were a total loss, their two cats were dead, $138,000 in jewelry had been stolen and pawned, and a 1998 Audi sedan had been stolen and abandoned with $4,000 in damage.
