Parents and siblings of Colorado murder victims are coming to Denver from across the country to meet with crime-scene experts and homicide detectives trying to solve decades-old mysteries.

Families of Homicide Victims and Missing Persons, a grassroots group made up of family members of murder victims, is meeting Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, 6363 E. Hampden Ave.

The group will discuss a proposal to use money earmarked for Colorado death penalty cases to fund a state-level team of cold case investigators to work on the state’s 1,300 unsolved murders.

Bob Marcum and Rob McCleod will have a workshop explaining how they persuaded FBI agents to investigate suspected serial killer Scott Kimball in the murders of their daughters earlier this year.
