Getting your player ready...

The Nuggets’ scrimmage got a little testy this afternoon, with players jawing at the refs — and at each other.

“It was a little sloppy,” Denver coach George Karl said. “Most of my disappointment was offensive. It was sloppy, but intense.”

There were numerous highlights in the scrimmage, notably from Carmelo Anthony, who Karl said was the best player on the court. For all his scoring, Anthony made a couple of slick passes, like he was Allen Iverson or something.

Perhaps the most exciting play of the scrimmage happened with four seconds left, when J.R. Smith attempted a jumper and Renaldo Balkman, the omnipresent defensive presence, stuffed the shot attempt to the floor.
