Thursday’s vice presidential debate scored significantly higher ratings than this year’s first presidential debate, A.C. Nielsen reported today.
Based on the 55 local markets where electronic meters are in use, the overall rating for the Palin/Biden debate was 45.0, or 45 percent of all households, compared to the Obama-McCain debate which scored a 31.6 rating.
In Denver, the cumulative rating was 40.8 (which includes all broadcast and cable networks carrying the debate). Nielsen said the number of households and viewers is expected later today.
Nationally, among the broadcast networks, ABC was the top destination for post-debate analysis.
