After its final preseason game Sunday — a 4-3 overtime victory over the Blackhawks — the Avalanche on Monday reassigned defenseman Kyle Cumiskey to Lake Erie, the team’s American Hockey League affiliate.
With Cumiskey’s drop, the Avs trimmed their preseason roster to 26 players. The NHL deadline for regular-season 23-man rosters is Wednesday.
Cumiskey, 21, who played in 38 games for the Avs last season.
