For the record: 2-3. The Jaguars are three games behind undefeated Tennessee in the AFC South.

Last game: Lost 26-21 to Pittsburgh.

Who’s hot: Cornerback Rashean Mathis recorded his second interception of the season Sunday against the Steelers, which he returned 72 yards for a touchdown. He also scored a touchdown on his first interception two weeks ago against the Colts.

Who’s not: The Jaguars drafted defensive end Derrick Harvey at No. 8 in hopes he would immediately improve their pass rush. Harvey, who held out for almost all of training camp, has three tackles but still no sacks.

Key stat: Jacksonville quarterback David Garrard has been sacked 13 times this season. He was sacked only 21 times in all of 2007. The Titans sacked Garrard seven times in Week 1, and Pittsburgh sacked him three times on Sunday.

FYI: The Broncos are 4-4 all-time against the Jaguars, including a 23-14 loss at home last season.

Coachspeak: “Smart and tough is what we pride ourselves on here in Jacksonville, and I didn’t feel we were smart and tough last night in key situations.” — Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio
