STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo.—Routt County Habitat for Humanity says it is investigating the disappearance of about $70,000 over a nine-month period.

Board Chairman Jeffery Weeden says the agency began examining its finances Sept. 11.

Habitat for Humanity says Steamboat Springs police are investigating. A police captain did not immediately return a phone message Tuesday seeking comment.
