Denver is seventh heaven. At least that’s what the Sporting News says in its annual list of the country’s top sports cities. The publication, which bases the list on various categories from won-lost records to attendance, ranked Denver seventh, behind, in order, Boston, Detroit/Ann Arbor, Dallas/ Fort Worth, New York, Philadelphia and Phoenix/Tempe. But Denver is not the only Colorado city for which we can be proud. Colorado Springs ranked 102nd, followed by Fort Collins (132) and Greeley (220). Akron, despite hosting the two-time defending Class 1A state football champion Rams, was not on the list of 400. Denver Post wire services
