A 27-year-old Windsor man tonight faces charges of drunken driving and hit and run in Loveland, after police say he left the scene when he was picked by another car.

Loveland police said Martin Peralta caused the three-car crash in the 5700 block of North Garfield Avenue about 6 p.m.

Peralta was uninjured but three people in the two other cars involved in the crash were taken to McKee Medical Center in Loveland. The extent of their injuries was not known Tuesday night.

When another car driven by a woman Peralta knows showed up, Peralta left, police said. He was later located and booked into the Larimer County Detention Center on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving, vehicular assault, leaving the scene of an accident involving serious bodily injury, failing to notify police of an accident and reckless endangerment.

Christine Montoya, 25, of Loveland, who allegedly picked up Peralta at the crash scene, was cited on a charge of false reporting to authorities.
