LAKEWOOD, Colo.—A Colorado State Patrol trooper has been treated for minor injuries after a suspected drunken driver dragged him during an early-morning traffic stop in Golden.
Authorities say the trooper pulled over the driver about 2 a.m. Thursday and asked him to take a roadside sobriety test.
Trooper David Hall says that instead of cooperating, the driver grabbed the trooper’s arm and dragged him 50 to 100 feet. The trooper, identified as Bradley Fox, freed himself and returned to his patrol car, then pursued the suspect’s Jeep nearly four miles until making contact.
The Jeep crashed at a car dealership and rolled over, totaling at least two vehicles.
The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Jeffrey Casey of Golden, was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries.
