DENVER—A man who plead guilty to traveling from Canada to Colorado to have sex with a 30-year-old woman and her 13-year-old daughter during an undercover operation will spend 57 months in prison.
A federal grand jury indicted Lawrence Eugene Couturier in March on charges of traveling with intent to engage in illicit sexual contact with a minor. He was sentenced Friday.
Prosecutors say Couturier contacted the undercover female agent on the internet and later told her via e-mail and on the phone that he wanted to impregnate her and the 13-year-old daughter he thought she had. Couturier drove from British Columbia to Seattle before boarding a flight to Denver. Police arrested him while he was driving to meet the undercover officer.
