Two men who sent child pornography over the Internet have been arrested after a Colorado Springs Police Department investigation.

Martin Lockman of Whitestone, N.Y., was arrested in New York for investigation of sending and receiving child pornography, according Lt. David Whitlock of the Colorado Springs Police Department.

James C. Phipps of Centennial was arrested by the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Department for investigation of sexual exploitation of children and is being held at the Arapahoe County jail on $50,000 bail, Whitlock said.

A Colorado Springs investigation in April discovered that men from across the country were trading pornography on the Internet. The department contacted New York authorities and later Arapahoe County deputies as the investigation identified new suspects, Whitlock said.

Lockman, a retired New York Fire Department paramedic, admitted collecting and trading child pornography for 10 years, Whitlock said.

Phipps had more than 1,000 images and videos of child pornography on his computer and other digital media, he said.

Phipps admitted he downloaded the pornography on an Internet network.
