Sixth Avenue Elementary School students who normally walk home from school were kept in the school’s gym until parents picked them up this afternoon because of a downed power line nearby.
Students who normally walk home were unable to use an overpass that takes them across East Sixth Avenue near Vaughn Street, according to a school news release.
Parents were notified, the release said.
