Spin factor

An estimated 600 people will cycle for a cause Friday at Greenwood Athletic and Tennis Club. The eighth annual Roadless Ride is a spinathon in which participants can choose to ride in an hour time slot between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. The pledges riders make will benefit Brent’s Place, a local charity that provides housing and support programs for children with cancer and their families. The event is open to non- members, as well as members of the club at 5801 S. Quebec St., Greenwood Village. For more information on how to raise funds as part of the Roadless Ride, or to sign up, visit or contact Katie Keating at Brent’s Place at 303-831-4545. Pledges start at $40 for an hour’s class, T-shirt and goodie bag.

Born to have fun

Lisa Welch and Julie Hill met in college, traveled widely, came home to Colorado to start their families but never slowed down in the process. During their pregnancies they couldn’t find the cool clothes they wanted to wear while staying active, so they created their own line, BornFit. Using stretchy, moisture- wicking fabrics, fun colors and modern shapes, the line includes tops, jackets, shorts, pants and skorts, $39-$76. With the success of the maternity active wear, they’ve now expanded the collection to include “relaxed fit” styles for women who aren’t pregnant. Check it out at such running stores as Runner’s Roost. For a complete list of retailers, visit .
