COLUMBIA, Mo. — Chase Daniel’s Heisman Trophy stock just plummeted. Missouri’s shot at being No. 1 was a misfire.

Oklahoma State stopped an offense that had been scoring at will all season, intercepting Daniel three times in the second half and upsetting the third-ranked Tigers 28-23 on Saturday night.

“Put it all on me,” Daniel said. “I should have made all three of those throws.”

Chatfield high school graduate Zac Robinson and Damian Davis hooked up on a pair of long scores in the second half, and Patrick Lavine’s interception at the Oklahoma State 31 with 1:41 to go on a pass intended for Jeremy Maclin was the clincher.

“They had some big playmakers, but we felt we had some big playmakers on our defense,” Lavine said. “We knew the ball was going to Maclin. I tried to play him hard, and it worked out for me.”

It was the coming-out party for the Cowboys (6-0, 2-0). Oklahoma State, only 18-19 in coach Mike Gundy’s first three seasons, is 6-0 for only the second time since 1945.

And it was Robinson, not Daniel, who played like a Heisman Trophy front-runner. Robinson was 19-for-28 for 215 yards and two touchdowns. Kendall Hunter had 154 yards on 24 carries and a 68-yard scoring run.

Daniel was 39-for-52 for 390 yards and a touchdown for Missouri (5-1, 1-1 Big 12), which had won 10 in a row and 18 of 19 at home.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Josh Freeman completed 21-of-26 passes and ran for four touchdowns as Kansas State snapped its five-game losing streak to Texas A&M.

The Aggies (2-4) gave up 451 yards and dropped to 0-2 in the Big 12 for the first time.

Baylor 38, Iowa St. 10

WACO, Texas — Baylor freshman quarterback Robert Griffin was 21-of-24 passing for 278 yards with two touchdowns to Kendall Wright, ran for another score, and Mikail Baker returned the second-half kickoff 93 yards to the end zone as the Bears ended their 13-game conference losing streak.

“I haven’t been here for the losing streak, but now it’s a winning streak,” Griffin said.

Griffin has thrown nine touchdowns without an interception. He has rushing TDs in six consecutive games, the longest Baylor streak since Jerod Douglas’ six in a row in 1995.
