GREELEY, Colo.—Bryan Waggener threw two touchdown passes for Northern Colorado, which defeated Idaho State 29-9 in its homecoming game Saturday for the Bears’ first win of the season.
Neither team scored in the second half.
Northern Colorado (1-4, 1-1 Big Sky Conference) scored 19 points off two turnovers by Idaho State (0-6, 0-3), and the Bears scored two safeties.
In the first quarter, Joe Kenney recovered a fumble that led to a 28-yard touchdown pass from Waggener to Alex Thompson to put the Bears up 16-7.
Waggener finished 13-for-25 passing for 138 yards.
Russel Hill was 23-for-42 for 237 yards with four interceptions for Idaho State.
