LITTLE ROCK, Ark.—Little Rock police say vice detectives have arrested a vendor at the Arkansas State Fair on suspicion of selling fake name-brand purses and other goods.
Lt. Terry Hastings says detectives found fake Louis Vuitton, Coach, Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana purses in a booth run by Boukare Ouiya, 52, of Aurora, Colo. Hastings says agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement later determined Ouiya was an illegal immigrant from North Africa.
Police confiscated the purses and fake Nike tennis shoes into police custody.
Ralph Shoptaw, general manager of the fair, says his understanding is that booths can sell whatever they want, as long as they acknowledge the goods aren’t legitimate.
