LINCOLN, Neb.—Nebraska defensive coordinator Carl Pelini says he was impressed with his team’s speed and intensity in its workout Tuesday.

The Cornhuskers (3-3, 0-2 Big 12) practiced for 2 1/2 hours inside the Hawks Championship Center in preparation for their game Saturday at Iowa State.

The Cyclones may have struggled in last week’s loss at Baylor, but they have potential for explosiveness. Pelini says his team needs to be ready for that and more.

Pelini says he expects linebackers Cody Glenn, Phillip Dillard and safety Rickey Thenarse to play Saturday. All three have been battling injuries.

Kickoff against the Cyclones (2-4, 0-2) is set for 11:30 a.m. The game will be televised by the cable network Versus.
