Hunters who operate in areas where chronic wasting disease is prevalent are encouraged to take advantage of extended hours for testing at Colorado Division of Wildlife offices. In addition to regular hours, these stations will be available on each opening Saturday of the regular deer and elk rifle seasons, as well as on Veterans Day. Certain high-demand areas also will be open Sundays. For a listing of offices and hours, visit the agency’s website.
Carter Lake fishing.
Dam 1 at Carter Lake, near Berthoud, will be open to kokanee snagging and other fishing until Dec. 31. The dam will be open sunrise to sunset Thursday through Sunday. Access is not permitted on Dams 2 or 3, which still are restricted.
