Willie Clark made his first appearance in Denver District Court this morning to hear the charges against him in the death of Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams.
During the brief appearance, Clark waived a formal advisement. An arraignment was scheduled for Oct. 30.
Clark, 25, who is being held in a federal jail in Englewood on drug-conspiracy charges, was wearing a baggy white shirt and tan pants. He said nothing during the two-minute court appearance.
Clark was indicted last week on 39 counts, including first-degree murder, in the Jan. 1, 2007, killing of Williams. Clark is charged with opening fire on a limousine carrying Williams, 15 others and a driver. Two others in the limousine were wounded.
One of four men who said he was with Clark in an SUV when the shooting started is cooperating with authorities in the case.
