NEDERLAND, Colo.—A Colorado man who once claimed he was the victim of a prank that left him glued to a toilet seat in Home Depot has been found dead in his home.
Police say 60-year-old Robert Dougherty’s body was found Tuesday. He lived in Nederland, a mountain village about 30 miles northwest of Denver.
They say Dougherty’s health had been declining and his death isn’t considered suspicious. Investigators are awaiting autopsy results.
Dougherty said he was glued to a Home Depot toilet in Louisville, about 20 miles east of Nederland, in 2003. He sued Home Depot for $3 million, saying employees ignored his calls for help for about 15 minutes before calling paramedics.
A judge dismissed the suit, citing a lack of evidence that Home Depot was at fault.
