Line: Nebraska by 7
Series Record: Nebraska leads 84-16-2
Last Meeting: 2007 (Nebraska 35, Iowa State 17)
What’s at Stake:
Nebraska has lost five straight road games dating back to last season, and the Cornhuskers likely won’t get a better opportunity to snap that skid. Iowa State is coming off a disheartening 38-10 loss at Baylor, and the Cyclones could use a strong performance to keep their season from slipping into futility.
Key Matchup:
Nebraska QB Joe Ganz vs. Iowa State’s secondary. Ganz was 36-of-44 passing last week against No. 7 Texas Tech. Iowa State is 113th in the nation in pass efficiency defense. The Cyclones will have to get better play out of their secondary to keep Ganz from controlling the game through the air.
Players to watch:
Nebraska: RB Marlon Lucky. The Huskers leading rusher has just one 100-yard game this season, but he had 107 yards in Nebraska’s win over Iowa State in 2007.
Iowa State: PK Grant Mahoney. The true freshman is 10-of-14 of field goal tries and a perfect 19-for-19 on PATs.
