CENTENNIAL, Colo.—A trial for former Denver Broncos wide receiver David Kircus on an assault charge has been pushed back until February.
Kircus had been scheduled to go on trial beginning Monday on a charge stemming from a fight at a party in suburban Denver in May 2007.
Kircus appeared in court Friday and asked for a continuance, and the trial was reset for Feb. 9.
An Arapahoe County sheriff’s report accused the 28-year-old of hitting a man in the eye after the man escorted Kircus out of a house party to the sidewalk. The victim was taken to a hospital with multiple facial fractures.
