BOULDER — The body of a man has been recovered after a hiker spotted it Saturday afternoon between the second and third Flatirons, according to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.

It took members of the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group several hours to complete the recovery, and the body was brought down about 7:15 p.m.

Sheriff’s emergency services coordinator Sue Cullen said the man was not equipped with climbing gear or safety equipment, but it was still possible he was climbing one of the popular slopes.
