The body of a man was recovered tonight after a hiker spotted it Saturday afternoon between the second and third Flatirons, according to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.
It took members of the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group several hours to complete the recovery and the body was brought down about 7:15 p.m..
Sheriff’s emergency services coordinator Sue Cullen Cullen said the man was not equipped with climbing gear or safety equipment, but it was still possible he was climbing one of the popular slopes.
Sheriff’s detectives and the Boulder County Coroner’s Office will investigate the death. The man’s name or age were not available tonight.
