Clear skies and calm winds set the backdrop for Sunday’s Denver Marathon.
Last year in a cold rain more than 5,700 people participated in the marathon, half marathon and marathon relay.
This year’s fair weather encourages race directors that more runners took to Denver’s streets.
The course began and ended at Civic Center and passed through Lower Downtown, City Park, Cheesman Park and Washington Park.
The official results, as posted on the race web site: Jynocel Basweti of Santa Fe won for the men in two hours, 22 minutes, 13 seconds; Nuta Olaru of Longmont took the women’s title in 02:42:18.
