LOS ANGELES — Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is seeing less use of credit cards at the retailer, a sign that U.S. consumers are “feeling the pain” of the financial crisis.

Consumers are using their credit cards less often because they feel “maxed out,” Eduardo Castro-Wright, Wal- Mart’s U.S. stores chief, said Tuesday in a speech to Town Hall Los Angeles, a nonprofit membership group.
