The Garfield County Coroner’s Office has released the names of the Lakewood man and his son who died after their vehicle plunged about 700 feet off a steep mountain road near Glenwood Springs.

James Blissett, 41, and his 9-year-old son Jessy were killed just before midnight Sunday, Chandra Mortensen, deputy coroner for the Garfield County Coroner’s Office said today.

The two were apparently on a hunting trip.

On Monday, someone passing by the area known as Windy Point reported seeing a vehicle off the road.

The crash remains under investigation.
