COLUMBIA, MO. — Colorado quarterback Tyler Hansen became the fifth true quarterback to start for the Buffaloes, taking over for sophomore Cody Hawkins today against Missouri.
Hansen, a true freshman from Temecula, Calif., won’t turn 19 until December 6.
Hansen is the first since 2000, when Craig Ochs started at Texas.
Hansen made his first appearance of the season last weekend, in the second quarter against Kansas State. He led CU on both of its scoring drives in a 14-13 win. Hansen completed 7-of-14 pass attempts for 71 yards and a touchdown. He also ran the ball 19 times for 98 yards.
