A suspected drunk driver led Fort Collins police on a high-speed chase early Saturday morning before hitting a utility pole, crashing through two fences and into the kitchen of a nearby home before fleeing on foot.

Landon Kliewer, 22, was arrested a few blocks from the Abilene Court home where his black Ford Mustang had crashed. The residents were home but no one was injured, according to the Fort Collins Police Department.

Kliewer’s passenger, 21-year-old Arielle Kaminky, was extricated from the car and taken to Poudre Valley Hospital.

Police first noticed the Mustang traveling south on College Avenue in the northbound lanes. The Mustang shot off at 100 mph on Drake Road heading east when the officer turned on the emergency lights.

Police did not follow immediately and eventually found more than 480 feet of skids on the westbound lanes of Drake where the vehicle had been traveling east.

Kliewer faces charges of vehicular eluding with bodily injury, reckless driving and driving under the influence of alcohol.
