Getting your player ready...

It was revenge, 10 years in the making.

In 1998, Jake Delhomme couldn’t beat out a guy named Kurt Warner for the starting quarterback job of the Amsterdam Admirals in NFL Europe. On Sunday, he engineered a comeback that wiped out his ex-teammate’s monster day.

Delhomme threw for 248 yards and two touchdowns for the Carolina Panthers to offset Warner’s 381 yards and two TDs for the Arizona Cardinals in a 27-23 victory.

“Talked to him a good while before the game,” Delhomme said of facing Warner for the first time. “Didn’t get to talk to him after. I would have probably asked him for his autograph.”

Sunday’s scores: Dolphins 25, Bills 16 Redskins 25, Lions 17 Cowboys 13, Bucs 9 Saints 37, Chargers 32 Ravens 29, Raiders 10 Jets 28, Chiefs 24 Patriots 23, Rams 16 Panthers 27, Cards 23 Eagles 27, Falcons 14 Texans 35, Bengals 6 Browns 23, Jaguars 17 Giants 21, Steelers 14 Seahawks 34, 49ers 13

Tonight: Colts at Titans, 6:30 p.m., ESPN
