LAKEWOOD, Colo.—A federal office building in the Denver area was briefly evacuated after a white substance was discovered on the floor, but firefighters say it was only talcum powder.
West Metro Fire Protection District spokeswoman Micki Trost says the evacuation was lifted shortly before 1 p.m. Monday.
The powder was reported about an hour earlier. Trost says it was found on the floor, not in a letter or package.
She didn’t know how many people were evacuated.
The building is in the Denver Federal Center in Lakewood, a west Denver suburb. It’s not clear what agencies are housed in the building.
