A female driver was shot late last night in Denver, police said.
The incident happened at about 11:45 p.m. Sunday in the Stapleton neighborhood, said Sonny Jackson, a Denver police spokesman.
The woman drove her minivan from the shooting scene on Martin Luther King Boulevard to a nearby Wal-Mart on Smith Road for help, Jackson said. She told police a man had tried to steal her car.
The woman was taken to Denver Health Medical Center to be treated for her injuries, Jackson said. Details on her condition were not available.
The name of the victim was not released. Police did not release information on the suspect or suspects.
