New Mexico State men’s golfer Travis Reid held off Colorado’s Patrick Grady and Denver’s Daniel Wax for a 1-stroke victory Tuesday at the season-ending Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate in Las Cruces, N.M.
Reid fired a final-round, 5-under-par 66 on the New Mexico State University Golf Course and carded a three-round 208, one stroke better than Grady and Wax at 209. Grady finished with an even-par 71, Wax shot a final-round, 1-under 70.
Denver’s Espen Kofstad tied for fourth place at 210.
New Mexico State also won the team medal, compiling a 10-under 861. Kansas State was second at 861. Denver finished fourth (873), Colorado was ninth (875).
Fuller leads CSU to swimming victories.
Colorado State freshman Breann Fuller, a two-time state champion at Brighton High School, was named the Mountain West Conference swimmer of the week after helping the Rams to a 4-0 start in dual meets over the weekend. She won the 100- and 200-meter backstrokes and helped CSU to two relay wins.
