Fairy princess or hula girl, surfer to barefoot Huck Finn, Colorado kids have more Halloween options than usual this year due to a stretch of balmy, late-October weather.

Sunny skies and temperatures in the 70s will define the days through next Monday, with nighttime metro lows in the 40s, well-above freezing.

The National Weather Service is calling for a high in Denver of 73 today, and 76 degrees tomorrow and Wednesday.

The high country will see daytime highs all week in the 60s. In Vail, today’s high should peak at 67 degrees. Nighttime lows in the mountains will be in the 20s.

On Halloween, Friday’s high of 72 will mellow into the 60s and 50s during early evening’s prime trick-or-treating hours. The low will be 43.

Weekend temperatures also are expected to be in the 70s, and because of the time change, you’ll have an extra hour for sleep or yard work or nursing your sugar hangover.

Set your clocks back by one hour before going to bed Saturday night, as daylight saving time ends Sunday.
