COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A Colorado Springs school bus driver has been fired and ticketed after her bus took a hard bounce that threw one child from the moving vehicle and jolted four others out of their seats.

Medical crews responded after the Oct. 23 incident but it’s not clear if any of the children were hospitalized.

Police say 24-year-old Tammy Williams was going too fast when her bus hit a dip in the road and bounced.

Police say a boy was thrown through the emergency exit, but they were unable to determine how it came open.

The Harrison School District fired Williams on Monday and police cited her Tuesday on a charge of careless driving.

No phone listing could be found for Williams. It wasn’t known if she had a lawyer.
