The weather has wrecked havoc on the World Series, but Saturday’s Air Force-Army game at West Point, N.Y., should start without a hitch.

The Saturday forecast is sunshine and temperatures in the 50s, but AFA coach Troy Calhoun said his team is facing a tough place to play regardless of the weather. A sellout crowd is expected; less than 1,000 seats were available earlier this week for the 40,000-seat Michie Stadium.

With a strong fullback game from senior Collin Mooney, the Black Knights have built an advantage in possession time of slightly more than five minutes a game, which is about the same for Air Force. It could be a fast-paced game.

“Frequently in a game, you might have 13 possessions,” Calhoun said. “In this one, it might be more like 10 or 11. I remember one time we played at Army when I was a player and it was 1:05 kickoff. We walked into the locker room at half time and it was 2 p.m.”

Army coach Stan Brock, who played at the University of Colorado, converted the team’s offense to the triple option this season. After losing its first four games, the Black Knights have won three of their past four games.
