BRIGHTON — Brighton police are investigating an auto-pedestrian collision that left one man dead.
The man was attempting to cross U.S. 85 at West Jessup Street on foot late Wednesday when he was struck by a vehicle.
Brighton police spokesman John Bradley says it appears the pedestrian had been drinking alcohol sometime before the accident.
The motorist who struck the man called police.
A pedestrian overpass provides access across U.S. 85, but the man did not use it and tried instead to cross against traffic.
The victim’s name has not been released.
