A gunman wearing a red bandana shot two drivers in northeast Denver this week as they waited for a red light to change.

The first shooting happened at about 11:45 p.m. Sunday near Martin Luther King and Central Park boulevards.

The second occurred Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the same area, according to a Crime Stoppers alert.

A woman in a minivan who was shot in the first incident drove to a nearby Wal-Mart on Smith Road for help. She was treated at Denver Health Medical Center and released.

A male motorist in Tuesday’s shooting drove to a local hospital, where he as treated, police said.

Both victims described the shooting suspect as a Latino or white man, about 5-foot-8, in his late teens or early 20s.

In both incidents, the gunman wore a red bandana, or red scarf, over his face and fired while stopped at a red light.

In the first shooting, the suspect fled in a gold SUV.

Police have been canvassing the Stapleton neighborhood where the shootings occurred, warning residents and hoping to glean information from witnesses.
