A Utah Jazz fan can win $5,000 for creating an original theme song for the 2008-09 season. The “WeMix Mountain Jam” national songwriting contest began Thursday. WeMix, a user-generated record label for independent artists, was founded by Grammy Award-winning rapper Ludacris, whose real name is Christopher Bridges. In December, Jazz players and Ludacris will choose five finalists, then Jazz fans will vote online to pick the winner. The song will premiere Jan. 7 when the New Orleans Hornets visit the Jazz.
