BOULDER, Colo.—The minivan of a Boulder resident whose whereabouts for 17 days remain unknown has been found near Los Angeles.
Authorities in California found James McPhee’s vehicle Oct. 21, the same day the 34-year-old sought help at a stranger’s home in Boulder. He had a half-empty bottle of wine and a handgun.
California authorities notified Boulder police last week that they found the minivan with keys in the ignition and California license plates that had been reported missing.
McPhee has told authorities he doesn’t remember what happened after he disappeared Oct. 5.
McPhee’s wife has said her husband was suicidal, which led to the disappearance.
Police are investigating whether any crimes occurred.
