Getting your player ready...
Jamie Quirk has landed with the Reds, confirming Sunday night that he has taken a pro scouting job in Cincinnati.
Quirk was let go last month as part of a reshuffling of the Rockies coaching staff. He had served as manger Clint Hurdle’s bench coach since 2003.
He is the second former Rockies coach to hook on elsewhere. Former third base coach Mike Gallego took the same position with the Oakland A’s. Former Rockies hitting instructor Alan Cockrell has found interest from several teams and continues talking with Seattle, Atlanta and Cincinnati about possible positions in their respective organizations.
Hurdle will continue interviewing prospective coaches for his staff this week including Tom Runnells on Friday.
