An Evans police officer was injured Sunday night when a woman, later charged with drunken driving, turned in front of his cruiser and caused a collision.
Officer Matt Walker was treated and released from Northern Colorado Medical Center in Greeley after the crash at 7:45 p.m. at 52nd Street and 11th Avenue, department spokeswoman Rita Wolf said.
The driver of the Ford Ranger pickup, Gina Renee Mesa, 52, of Greeley, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, failing to have a driver’s license and failure to yield the right of way while turning in an intersection.
