BOULDER, Colo.—Two days after Election Day, Boulder County election officials say their vote-counting pace is picking up.
The count was slowed after an election worker discovered a potential problem Sunday with dust from mail-in ballots. Teams then began checking each mail-in ballot to make sure voting equipment wouldn’t interpret dust from the ballots as a vote for an issue that the voter had left blank on the ballot.
By Thursday afternoon, 110,999 ballots had been processed. Turnout in the county was estimated at 166,000.
There is no firm estimate on when counting will be done. The Clerk and Recorder’s Office plans to keep working Thursday until midnight.
