The Colorado BioScience Association on Thursday announced its 2008 award winners. The official presentation will take place during the 2008 BioWest Conference & Expo at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Grand Hyatt Denver.
Gov. Bill Ritter, a recipient of one of this year’s Chairman’s awards, will serve as the keynote speaker.
Award winners include Jay Gershen, vice chancellor for external affairs at the University of Colorado Denver, lifetime achievement award; CaridianBCT, company of the year; Sierra Neuropharmaceuticals, a CU spinout, rising star; Chris Lepore, director of state government affairs for Johnson and Johnson, volunteer of the year; and Brenda Dempsey, a biology teacher at Castle View High School, educator of the year.
The other Chairman’s award goes to Denise Brown, former executive director of the Colorado BioScience Association.
