The owners of Prairie Mountain Publishing are looking to sell the Boulder Daily Camera building at the corner of Pearl and Walnut streets.

“We’re sending a package out to a specific group of investors,” said Al Manzi, publisher of the Daily Camera. “We have 77,000 square feet of space. We only need about 25,000. It’s a highly desirable asset.”

A marketing package was to be sent to about a dozen potential investors today, he said, but that number has increased to about 18 since word of a potential sale became known.

The board of Prairie had considered redeveloping the property since the paper’s printing operation moved to Denver last fall.

ap, owner of The Denver Post, and E.W. Scripps, publisher of the Rocky Mountain News, each have a 50 percent ownership stake in Prairie. The Denver Newspaper Agency, which oversees business functions at both papers, prints the Daily Camera.

A meeting was held with staffers Thursday to explain the building sale, Manzi said.

He said it’s too early to know whether the newspaper’s staff would stay in the building after it sells or move to another location.
