The yuletide season begins in Gunnison with the 34th annual Sugar Plum Festival from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 22 at the Fred R. Field Western Heritage Center. A prime stop for handmade gifts, Christmas-tree decorations, stained glass, pottery, jewelry and canned goods. Call 970-641-6931.

The Gunnison Arts Center’s annual Holiday Market (102 S. Main St.), held Nov. 22-Dec. 23, features one-of-a-kind creations by local artists. The center is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
