Mountain ski resorts are reporting up to 12 inches of snow at Aspen Highlands and Snowmass over the past 24 hours.
Five resorts are now open for the season. Copper Mountain opened today along with Keystone and Breckenridge. Arapahoe Basin and Loveland have been open since Oct. 15.
Wolf Creek opens Saturday.
A storm expected to bring rain and snow to the metro area should hold off at least through Saturday.
Today’s high in Denver will be near 57 degrees, under mostly sunny skies. The low will be 32.
Saturday will be similar to today in the Denver area, with a high near 57 and clouds rolling in overnight.
Sunday should be mostly cloudy, with a chance of rain showers after 11 a.m. and a high of just 48.
By Sunday night, the rain may turn to snow. The National Weather Service is calling for a 20 percent chance of precipitation for Sunday night and Monday. Monday’s high will peak around 42.
For Veterans Day on Tuesday, expect a high of 45 and partly sunny skies.
