LINCOLN, Neb.—Nebraska earned the chance to play in a bowl game with its sixth win of the year Saturday, and coach Bo Pelini says the practices that go with bowls will help the Huskers improve.
Pelini says the bowl game practices will be like a second set of spring practices for the younger players.
To help develop its young players, Nebraska held another scrimmage Monday involving young players at the end of practice.
Pelini says having the younger players face the older players on the team helps prepare the younger players.
Pelini says he and his staff plan to continue holding young players out of competition as redshirts to build for the future. Twenty-three young players have not played and will likely redshirt.
